The Problem

13 regulators. 13 portals. No single feed.

Five portals a day. Inbox alerts you stopped reading in March. If staying current on the FCA, PRA, ICO, HMRC, NCSC, Companies House, OFSI and the rest is a 90-minute morning routine, you're doing it the hard way.

The Update You Missed. The Fine You Earned.

FCA PS, PRA consultation, ICO guidance, HMRC bulletin, NCA alert. Thirteen regulators publish in parallel, and "I didn't see it" is not a defence. One missed consultation close is a year of policy drift.

Generic global firehose

Enterprise feeds throw every regulator on Earth at you. You want FCA CONC for a consumer credit broker, not SEC filings, not ESMA, not EBA. The signal-to-noise ratio is 91% reference material, 9% action.

Generic global feed 91% noise
Per-regulator monitor 13 to track
Manual sweep Hours/week

No Actions Tracked

You read an FCA Consultation Paper at 9:15am, thought "we need to respond to that", and by 10:30am it was buried under three meetings. No action created. No owner. No deadline. Gone.

0 actions
Created from regulator feeds.

No Audit Trail

The FCA inspector asks "how did you know about PS24/3?". An email forward dated 14 days late is not an answer. You need a dated record: saw it, triaged it, actioned it, closed it.

PS24/3 · seen? unknown
CP25/14 · responded? ?
Dear CEO letter · actioned? ?

If your regulatory radar is 13 browser bookmarks and a gut feeling, Horizon Scanning is the upgrade.

Built around your perimeter

Different perimeters. Same one feed.

Your regulator list shapes what you read. The 13-source feed underneath is the same — toggle in what applies, toggle out what doesn't, and the morning briefing arrives pre-filtered.

If you're FCA-regulated

FCA, PRA, ICO, OFSI and the NCA — in one inbox.

The eight sources a UK financial-services compliance officer cares about most, plus the wider perimeter the firm is incidentally exposed to. Filter Type = Action Required and you've got every implementation date and final rule across the financial-services rulebook in one screen.

  • FCA + PRA Dear CEO letters, policy statements and consultations — never missed
  • OFSI sanctions notices and FCA enforcement final notices — pattern intelligence on tap
  • Sector filter (Investments / Mortgage / Insurance / Payments / Crypto and 3 more) cuts noise on day one
If you're any other UK firm

Companies House, HMRC, ICO, NCSC and the rest — same feed.

Every UK firm has regulators. Companies House filing changes, HMRC PAYE updates, ICO data-protection guidance, NCSC cyber advisories, Pensions Regulator notices — the obligations don't care whether you're FCA-authorised. Toggle the sources that apply to you, ignore the rest.

  • Companies House, HMRC, ICO, NCSC, TPR — the regulators every UK firm answers to
  • Each of the 13 sources is independently toggleable — the feed adapts to your perimeter
  • Upcoming Deadlines register surfaces the dated obligations across every source you've turned on
The Horizon Scanning Edge

Three ideas that separate a classified regulatory inbox
from a generic global firehose.

Most horizon scanning tools either show you everything (13 browser tabs) or rewrite the regulator’s words into an AI summary. This module does neither. It classifies, filters, and pulls deadlines into a structured register, so 48 Action Required items land in front of you, not 2,000.

Step 1
Monitor
13 regulators, 1,953+ articles, refreshed every 5 minutes into one feed
Step 2
Triage
Type filter narrows 1,953 to 48 Action Required. Your regulatory to-do list.
Step 3
Track
Upcoming Deadlines register extracts dates into a Q1–Q4 structured view with countdown timers

Included in the base platform. No enterprise subscription required. No AI paraphrasing the regulator’s words.

13 regulators. One feed.

FCA, PRA, ICO, NCA, NCSC, Companies House, HMRC, SFO, CMA, TPR, OFSI, FRC and Treasury, unified into a single CSV-backed feed and refreshed every five minutes. Every article is classified client-side by Source, Type and Sector so filters are instant. The FCA expects proof of awareness. We’ve got you covered. Included in the base platform.

13 regulators · 1,953 live articles

We classify. We don’t rewrite.

Every other tool tries to add value through AI summaries you can’t defend to a regulator. This one deliberately does not. The AI lives in the classification pipeline, not the output. A multi-axis Source × Type × Sector filter turns 2,000 items into the 48 Action Required, 79 Consultation, 70 Enforcement items that actually need attention. You get the regulator’s words, not ours.

No hallucinations · Regulator-verbatim

Deadlines, not article bodies.

A PRA consultation closing in three months, tagged to Q2 2026, doesn’t stay buried in article text. It auto-surfaces in the Upcoming Deadlines side register, with the option to save items into a personal For Later list. That structured register is the board-pack moneyshot: “here’s what’s landing on us next quarter, in one screen.” Most tools leave deadlines unstructured in the article body.

Board-pack ready · Deadline extraction
The Solution

13 regulators, classified. One feed.

Filter by Source × Type × Sector. Save for later, mark as read, create actions, export. 1,953+ live articles refreshed every 5 minutes. The morning regulatory briefing a compliance officer used to spend 90 minutes assembling, ready before your first coffee.

Horizon Scanning newsfeed — 13 UK regulators in one unified feed, filtered by Source × Type × Sector

One unified feed. 1,950+ live articles across 13 UK regulators. Filter by Source (FCA, PRA, ICO and 10 more), Type (Action Required, Consultation, FYI, Reference) and Sector (8 FCA-aligned taxonomies). Latest / Saved / Read lifecycle tabs. List or grid view. Auto-refreshed every 5 minutes.

FCA news filtered feed — PS, CP, Dear CEO letters, final notices, enforcement

Drill to a single regulator in one click. 185+ FCA items (Policy Statements, Consultation Papers, Dear CEO letters, final notices and enforcement) pre-classified by Type and Sector. Sector-aware so a mortgage broker sees MCOB, not COBS. Every article links back to the original on fca.org.uk, unchanged.

Financial Crime feed — NCA, SFO, OFSI, HMRC money laundering and sanctions updates

159 financial crime items across NCA, SFO, OFSI and HMRC: sanctions designations, SAR guidance, proceeds of crime updates and MLR rule changes. Cross-filter with the side-panel Upcoming Deadlines register to see what's live this quarter, and save items straight into your MLRO evidence register.

What Our Clients Say

Thirteen regulators, one morning coffee.

From Chief Compliance Officers to Heads of Compliance. How firms replaced the 90-minute regulator-crawl with a single filtered inbox.

5.0

I used to start every day bouncing between the FCA, PRA, ICO and HMRC websites. Twelve tabs, three coffees, one gut feeling I'd missed something. Horizon Scanning replaced all of that with a single inbox. The Source × Type × Sector filter means I see the 9% that actually matters and ignore the 91% I don't need. I've got my mornings back and a proper audit trail for the board.

We used to rely on an enterprise regulatory-intelligence feed and a brittle spreadsheet. Horizon Scanning gave us thirteen regulators, every article classified, and Upcoming Deadlines pulled into a register automatically. When the FCA asked how we knew about PS24/3, I opened the Read tab and showed them the date we triaged it. Audit-ready the moment the regulator calls.

FAQs

Horizon Scanning: Questions Answered

Everything you need to know about the 13-regulator feed and how articles turn into compliance actions.

Which regulators does Horizon Scanning actually cover?
Thirteen UK regulators and industry bodies: FCA, PRA, ICO, NCA, NCSC, Companies House, HMRC, SFO, CMA, The Pensions Regulator (TPR), OFSI, FRC and HM Treasury. Every one of them is toggleable on or off in the Tools & Filters side panel. The feed pulls policy statements, consultation papers, Dear CEO letters, enforcement notices, guidance, sanctions designations and market notices, whatever the regulator publishes.
How often does the feed update?
Every five minutes while a Horizon Scanning tab is open. Whatever the FCA publishes at 9:30am is in your feed by 9:35am. No digest delay, no daily batch, no email round-trip. There's nothing to configure.
How many live articles are in the feed at any one time?
Approximately 1,950. Of those, ~48 are Action Required, ~79 Consultation, ~70 Enforcement and ~322 are High Priority across the urgency axes. About 9% of the feed is genuine "must read" signal. Horizon Scanning exists to surface that 9% and hide the 91% reference noise without hiding it irreversibly.
Do you rewrite or summarise the regulators' content?
Deliberately no. Every article links straight to the original source (fca.org.uk, gov.uk, ncsc.gov.uk, bankofengland.co.uk, and so on), unchanged. Compliance officers should not cite an AI-rewritten version of an FCA rule. We classify, tag and triage. The regulator authors. These responsibilities are never crossed.
What if a regulator is missing?
Tell us. The 13-regulator list reflects the UK financial services universe as we see it; we can add more (Home Office, Gambling Commission, FATF etc.) on request. We can expand the list — just ask.
How does the Source × Type × Sector filter work?
Three independent axes. Source filters by regulator bucket (FCA, PRA, ICO / Data, Financial Crime, Other). Type is the urgency classifier (Action Required, Consultation, FYI, Reference, plus High Priority and Enforcement shortcuts). Sector uses 8 FCA-aligned taxonomies (Investments, Mortgage, Insurance, Payments, Consumer Credit, Corporate Finance, Crowdfunding, Crypto), matched to FCA handbook areas: Investments (COBS), Mortgage (MCOB), Consumer Credit (CONC), Payments (PSR), Insurance (ICOBS), and more. Combine all three for a precise view of what matters to your firm.
How accurate is the Type / Sector classification?
Classification is rules-based and consistent — the same article always tags the same way, so you can rely on it for audit. Action Required picks up anything with an implementation date or compliance obligation. Sector tags follow FCA handbook areas. Edge cases do exist; for those, the free-text search and regulator toggle give you a manual override.
Can I save articles and create actions from them?
Yes. Three-state lifecycle: Latest → Saved → Read. Bookmark an article to Saved. Mark as Read when handled. A dedicated side-panel shortlist shows Saved items from anywhere in the feed. For Action Required items with a deadline, one click creates a task in the CMP pre-populated with title, source URL, owner slot and the extracted deadline. The article-to-action flow a compliance officer actually needs.
What are "Upcoming Deadlines" in the side panel?
A separate register surfacing time-bounded regulatory events: consultation close dates, policy go-live dates, reporting windows. Extracted automatically from article text and surfaced with a relative countdown. Exactly the format a board or audit committee pack demands.
Can I filter to just my firm's permissions?
Yes. Horizon Scanning reads your firm's FCA permissions from the Firm Compliance module and auto-enables the sector filters that apply. An investment manager sees Investments by default; a mortgage broker sees Mortgage. Override anytime via the side-panel Sector toggles. The aim is first-load relevance: 30 articles that matter to you, not 1,953 that don't.
What audit trail do inspectors see?
Every article has a timestamp. The Read tab logs when you triaged each item. The Saved list dates when you shortlisted it. CMP actions link back to the originating article with the source URL. An FCA inspector asking "how did you know about PS24/3?" gets a dated register entry: seen on day of publication, triaged, actioned, closed.
How much does Horizon Scanning cost?
Nothing on top of your RegTechPRO subscription. Horizon Scanning is a Foundation module included with any subscription. We include it because regulatory intelligence is table stakes for a compliance platform, not a premium add-on.
How long does setup take?
Zero configuration. The feed works on first login. If you want sector defaults auto-enabled from your firm permissions, enable the Firm Compliance integration during onboarding (a 10-minute step). Beyond that, there's nothing to set up: no RSS endpoints to add, no classification rules to author, no digest email to configure.
Can every user in my firm have their own Saved & Read lists?
Yes. Each user has their own independent Saved and Read lists, so a Head of Compliance and two Compliance Analysts each triage the feed against their own focus areas. Cross-user shared watchlists (where the whole compliance team see "our saved items") is on the roadmap.
How does it compare with enterprise regulatory-intelligence platforms?
Enterprise feeds lead on global coverage: dozens of jurisdictions, hundreds of regulators. For UK SMB regulated firms, global coverage is wasted. You want 13 UK regulators triaged sharply, not 400 worldwide in a generic firehose. Horizon Scanning is optimised for UK FCA-regulated firms, included in the platform, and it hands off to the rest of the compliance toolkit (CMP, Policy Studio, Risk Management). That's the edge.
